This traveling day camp is for intermediate to advanced surfers entering 8th-11th grade. On most days, there will be a ratio of one surf instructor to every three to four students. We will depart daily from Calvary Chapel Santa Barbara 1.N Calle Cesar Chavez at 9:00AM and will return for pick-up by 4:00PM.
Surf Safaris travel to different locations from Gaviota to Ventura searching for the best surf and wave conditions each day. On special days when the wind and surf forecasts are favorable, we may head north and spend the day surfing at Jalama State Beach.
Each day will start with loading the van at Calvary Chapel and heading out to find the best surf spots. Upon arriving at our chosen spot, we will set up camp and have a morning surf session, followed by lunch and a Bible study. In the afternoon, we will play some beach games and go for an afternoon surf session before we travel home.
Some days we will have special guests such as shapers, professional surfers, and surf trainers meet us to share their stories, wisdom about the sport, life, and faith. Every day promises a new and exciting adventure in surf and in Christ.
